about me
My connection to this work is an extension of my genuine human self, defined by experience, culture, and community.
I was born and brought up on Munsee Lenape & Canarsie land (Brooklyn, New York), a first generation Pakistani and Italian-American Muslim. My pronouns are she/her.
I am a daughter, a sister of sisters, a partner, and a mother.
I have always been observant, and emotionally attuned to those around me, generating within me a very specific reverence, and curiosity, for feelings, and more importantly, the expression of emotion as a means to foster profound, honest connections.
I believe these positions, and their dynamics, have provided me with a sensitive and nuanced understanding of identity – how we learn, create, narrate, develop, define, imagine, seek and lean into ourselves.
The basis of my approach is intuition, which is why I first and foremost center the relationship between us. In being present with you, in listening to you, in sharing delicate space, we develop trust and a sense of secureness that allows us to attend better to what is calling to you or reaching out for you.
I am also deeply committed to the learning process, to constant evolution and growth in my work. In particular, I am often exploring how to build a more liberation-based practice, confronting the mass trauma that white supremacy, colonization, and toxic masculinity have and continue to perpetuate, especially towards BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities.
In working with me, you can expect deep warmth, curiosity, care, candid reactions, intentionality, honesty, and accountability.
